Last 26th & 27th December, I am thrilled and deeply humbled that on its 2nd year, my Kids Charity Programme was a major success.

This Kids Charity could  never happen if not because of those people & corporate sponsors who willingly supported the PORTRAITURE Workshop I conducted last May 2011 in Dubai Emirates Aviation Club and some individuals who pledges.

I have nothing but being thankful to those people who put their trust on me... Especially my boss Mr. Issam Owies who supported my Photography. I remember few weeks back when I asked permission if I can fly back to Dubai for this fund raising. He immediately said yes. Without him, I would have gone somewhere down the road...

To those companies & private individuals who gave me a lot of photography works, rest assure that I will continuously do my best in this form of art.

To my family and friends, photography buddies and all over the world who kept visiting my website & liking my works, I really do appreciate all your time and commendations. Above all, to God almighty who have given me a beautiful gift to become an instrument. Despite some people who put politics in some of my works, I am eager to make a stand that goodwill and love must be the most infectious attributes of mankind.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! and yes, HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let us all welcome 2012 with great enthusiasm, endless hope & definitely BIG LOVE!

Revisiting Hong Kong has never been so exciting. I was looking forward to shoot some Nightscape & Exterior. I mean, China is still the best place to shoot modern architecture as most of their towers & high rise buildings belong to the world's top 15.

But this time, I want to simply take a day off & do some regression testing of the camera I won from Katara's Eid Fireworks Photo Competition -- SONY Cyber-shot DSC-WX7 with 16.2megapixel. So whilst browsing Hong Kong, I was taking snaps from left and right.. took a lot of night shots; trying to evaluate its sensitivity, speed and sharpness despite low light conditions.

The following 4 images below were taken using Intelligent Auto settings (Exposure Adjustment with automatic settings. Flash disabled. Hand held).

1st reason: Mobility & style. It's pretty especially in black color. Sleek!
2nd reason: Speed and sensitivity. Although the noise appears in Twilight mode (Night Photography).
3rd reason: The intelligent Auto settings + multi programme. Gives a very user friendly to novice and offers a lot of camera automatic settings to choose from. After all, technology makes things easier.

But what I hate the most: Battery. I was in Macau when suddenly, battery's drain without even giving me notice. I really thought I broke it.

PS: Photos are cropped to retain the proportion of my 700x470image format in this website. No further enhancement. Be the judge!

The Continuation of being & visiting 7 Countries in 24 Days.. But since I gave up Vietnam, you do the math.

Mean whilst, here's one of the latest post taken from Macau. Was just mesmerized with their fountain show and browsing the hotel per se was the most beautiful luxurious hotel I ever visited. I mean, interior wise plus the international top brands. No offence but in comparison to the interior of Burj Al Arab (Known to be the only 7 Star hotel in the world) I personally prefer Wynn Hotel.

To sum it up, was very pleased with Macau. And I promised myself that someday, given time & budget, I'll definitely visit Las Vegas.

4th December. Here are some of the photos during my 1 week visit in India. I must confess, I didn't really think it's gonna be an epic and pleasant journey.

The locals are very helpful and friendly. Cities are harmless and safe. Despite doing some street photography, I didn't even feel threatened outa bringing my gadgets around.

There are plenty of reasons why I am thankful to Him. To God who always surprises me with sweet blessings. Above all, I am thankful for the gift and the ability to share.

I will never be an Ambassador of World Peace (that really sounds funny!). But I hope, someday, people won't judge half the way they have seen. Visiting INDIA has given me self realisation that no matter how poverty affects humankind, there is always a room for joy... and a place to live.

In a week time, I was able to experience the dominance of being HAPPY. Above all, self satisfaction. And I will always work hard -- to discover what Life is, to understand Freedom and finding the Light in a form of photography.

25th November is the kick off date of visiting 7 countries in 24 days.

From Qatar to Dubai, I am thrilled to explore and maximize my very first visit to India. 1st stop is Chennai. Big thanks again to the Immigration Officer who was very helpful as it only took 10mins for me to get my visa upon arrival. And to Mr. & Mrs. Arul Kumar, for the warm hospitality.

There is sooo much more to tell. So much beautiful things to photograph. From people to culture, from architecture to traditions.

Watch out for the complete album coming soon. For the time being, here is 1 of the Portraitures I took today.

19th November. Attended my second Cooking Class at Intercon Hotel. Took Belgian class this time.

Just wanna thank Sir John Paul Portzgen, The Manager of Belgian Cafe; Chef Antonius Van Esche - Chef de Cuisine & of course Maam Raquel Gonzales (PR Manager) for another successful event. I loooove Belgian Cafe... Well, perhaps you have had seen where I usually hang out around Doha.

Lesson today includes Mussels au gratin with Roquefort and Dried Tomato for the appetizer, Carbonades Flammande for the main course and Belgian Chocolate Mousse for dessert.

Below image is taken using ambient light. ISO 2000, f2.8, 1/60 hand held. And that's my delicious lunch after the class -- Carbonades Flammande, baby!

17th November. Got a phone call from my boss that it'll be the last full show of CIRCUS at Doha Park. Took some shots for their media & press release.

The show was jam-packed! And before the Park ends, was able to take the CYCLONE ride. Don't judge me but I did scream; and felt I've nearly died... made my day! #BLAST!

Amidst all the news I heard & read about the festival (good + bad), I believe everyone deserves credit and learn from our experiences... Personally, I thank Qatar Tourism Authority and Economic Group for supporting my photography. I've witnessed those sleepless nights and tremendous amount of effort in placed for them to execute Doha Park.

Congratulations & more power!

10th November. My very first collaboration with ILOVEQATAR: Red Carpet 3 & Sisqo's Concert at Sheraton Hotel.

Shooting People and Event ain't my forte. Apart from the sensitivity by its nature, especially the fact that I am in a Muslim country, I am really shy of asking people if I can take photos of them. I appreciate those who are camera lover and the ones who initiates; but yeah, at the end of the day, Photography is all about different forms and challenges. And I stand still that all of the images I uploaded in this website are fruits of my hardwork, technical expertise (if I may say) and dedication to Art.

9th November. One of the great things I like in Muslim traditions is the celebration of the Eid (Long weekend). Jeeez, I've spent almost a year now in Doha and never thought it could be as colorful as it may seems.

Thankful to Ms Anri of ILQ, she had given me idea to visit Katara for the Eid Celebration. And that's photographing the fountain & fireworks display.

Lucky I must say, capturing fireworks has always been my fantasy and a challenge. I think it is both a matter of composition, timing and luck. In comparison with my previous fireworks shots from Dubai, I reckon I wanna make a difference: I want my audience to feel that Number 1: The scene is captured from Katara. And number 2, that I can still capture the essence of shooting fireworks (which also includes people, landmarks and some architectural elements).

30mins of show wasn't enough for me. But it was pretty impressive that I myself applause after the show (I just wished I'm multi lingual as the voice over during the fountain show was in Arabic)... Somehow, Kudos to Katara Team!

6th November. I've finally had able to shoot ROYAL TANDOOR's cuisine. And I couldn't help myself but being THANKFUL to Sir William, Sir Paschal and Chef Feros for nailing this food shoot. And Sir Arul, for bridging the gap between my professional desire in shooting Food & Beverage.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed they gonna love the output which will be marketed & used in their Canada branches. As this time, I want to position a different approach -- simple, elegant, product focused and contemporary.

Thanks Karl for holding my lights. And also the Tandoor Aziziya Branch team for your overwhelming support yesterday. From their Branch Manager down to the kitchen crew. You guys are superb!

September 2011: Twitter is one of the social networking sites I use nowadays; it was primarily to follow four Gods of the modern photography -- Joe McNally, Joey Lawrence, Zack Arias and David Hobby.. And later on found clients (VIPs) which is a sweet surprise. When I moved in Doha (well, technically I am still an UAE resident; I'm on a business trip), I tried keeping online w/ stuff, news and friends outa twitter. Especially celebrities & fashion gurus. RTs and Mentions are probably the cause how I bumped w/ DohaTweetUp. After all, it's a small world.

So what it is all about: DOHATWEETUP -- A monthly meet-up of Social media users from Qatar.

The event was held last 6th of September 2011 at W Hotel. The theme was Photography & had a photo competition about Design, Fashion or Music. The Mechanic: Doha Tweetups Team & W Doha will select the best photos and the winner may get a chance to display their photography at W Doha.

Anyway, my entry was luckily chosen; won a Voucher for 2 (Business Lunch at Spice Market). I haven't tried the place yet; but I heard it was awesome; coz last time, we were supposed to check out the resto but we ended up hanging around at Market (the bar's a bomb!) harhar.

Thanks to W Hotel & DohaTweetUp team! Can't wait for the next event.

"Light My Armani Kitchen"

Just a personal confession, the Portraiture "Light my Armani Kitchen" must have been one of my personal favourites. Not to mention, this was taken out of my curiosity shooting inside the Kitchen from a classy brand Armani. In addition, I was also luckily supported with the twin's mom allowing me to add some elements -- their puppy wearing a Loui Vitton and a Swarovski champagne glass.

I reckon using two different concepts make a distinct contrast. A princess and a rock star. Credit to my Hair & Make Up Artist  -- Joseph Tayco; Oh, thanks Joseph for holding 1 of my lights too!

To Mathilde & Katinka, Thanks for being patient whilst I was doing this shoot. Trust you girls had a blast on your photoshoot. I know I was kinda sucha pain in the arse demanding for such a composition (took a couple of shots to make this shot right); To their parents and most especially to Moore family; as this shoot is their birthday present for the twins. * Great Stuff! *

[Photo taken from Nikon D700 + Nikkor 24-70 f2.8 lens. 3 Strobes (All in manual settings; backlight w/ Green Gel); all  triggered w/ Cactus. ISO 400, f5.6, 1/30, +1 Exposure Compensation]

August 2011: EXPLORER Publishing has always been a great support when it comes to my Photography. They've been 1 of the major sponsors for the past 2 Workshops I conducted in Dubai last May 2010 in Avenue Hotel & May 2011 in Emirates Aviation College. To Explorer Family especially to Mr. Henry Hilos, THANK YOU!

And yeah, few weeks back, they asked me if I can contribute some of the images of Qatar. I wish I had more time browsing Doha outdoor and was able to capture more landmarks & snaps. Apparently, my day job and summer kinda give me limited time.

To all Locals, Tourists & Expats of Qatar, please do grab copy of the book. It is available to all major bookstores nationwide.

AUGUST 2011: Ramadan Mubarak! The fruitful month of Ramadan is around; we pray, respect others and hopeful to give something to charity. Above all, submission to the Almighty.

I am humbled & honoured that finally, the very 1st Edition of GULF TIME'S Cook Book "FLAVOURS" has been published. And gladly, IFS was able to nail putting one of their in-house specialties -- Buffalo Mozarella Salad as the cover page -- a sumptuous appetizer available @Medi; The Village.

Among all the published photos [taken by yours truly] include the food products, interior and corporate portraits of Integral Food Services.

To the IFS family (Sheik Hamad, SIr Hashim, Sir William), Chef Romero & Chef Ernie, The Village Manager Sir Charlie and staff; Food Stylist & Art Director (Mr. Arul for always there for me) + the ones who held my lights, THANK YOU!

3rd August 2011. Gulf Time's announces the release of FLAVOUR.

4th August 2011. Here comes FLAVOURS cook book!

And below is the original shot I took. PP done from Adobe Bridge 5 & Photoshop CS5. Personally, I prefer food shots to look naturally appealing. My style is more on High Key and Low Key shots; this gives me a safe "nice & clean shot"; which I reckon is suitable for any possible marketing concepts.

Used Nikon D700 + Nikkor 105mm f2.8 Micro lens; Wireless flash triggered by Cactus V5. 3 different lights & catchers -- window light (my main light positioned at the back of my subject), gold reflector (placed on the left) and one strobe (45 degrees in front of my subject). Exposure +1; to give a bit contrast and slightly over expose makes it more glossy. And yeah, color technique combination of green (friendly to your eyes) and red (which is the most catchy color).

P.S. After 4 days of photoshoots; I was able to finish 36 different food from starter to main course down to desserts. And Buffalo was my pilot shot.

JULY 2011: Seldom you may encounter clouds in the middle of Gulf's summer... But today must have been once in a blue moon; taking advantage of my stay here in Qatar, I just thought why not quickly shoot the exterior of Katara Amphitheatre... Sort of a personal stress release.

This is the fastest architectural photoshoot I ever did. Got six snapshots and immediately walked away... [I'm pretty good at it nowadays]; you may wonder why?! I'm bloody sweating eh?!. 40degrees Celsius, baby!

JULY 2011: Just wanna say thank you again to Mr. Arul and the rest of the IFS team for entrusting me to shoot  their food products. I must admit, Food Photography is not my forte. But I always believe that dedication and hardwork are the keys to get the job done. Amidst all my sleepless nights and weekendless learning food photography, I am grateful that finally, these images will soon be published across the region.

The Village, scheduled to open this month, is a 5 Star Restaurant situated along Salwa Road (near Midmac Roundabout); inspired by the elements of fire and water, THE VILLAGE provides you with a peaceful haven within the chaos of the city with a garden-side view adding to the ambience.

A culmination of three diverse dining styles, The Village has- DELI, MEDI, & GRILL.

This is the part 1 of the works. Watch out for the full blast coverage of the Architecture photos of The Village. Coming soon.

To view the complete resto details, visit IFS' website after the jump.

Deli: Casual but fast-paced

Medi: Contemporary and Mediterranean

Grill: Traditional, warm and cozy with privacy for families

JUNE 2011: I've been doing a lot of learning and collaboration to my recent addiction -- FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY. This weekend, was able to hit some experiments, trial and error; applied the techniques I learned from my mentor Henry Hilos, articles I read online and vids from Youtube.

I personally find it difficult but challenging. Hardwork it may seems but working with a team who shares the same passion is a blast! And yes, I would love to note that understanding LIGHT and composition are still the most tricky part.

Nevertheless, I was blessed & thankful to have my friends around who supported me all the way.
