26th October. I must admit, to get a commissioned food photoshoot work not just from a 5 Star Hotel but a well-known Chef don't just press some concerns about "Pressure" but I must say -- Fun.  From the moment I saw the line up dishes, I knew I will be having another hard time… But I was wrong. Photographing Chef Daniele's dishes has becoming a personal obsession. Addiction… will you ever blame me for that?

Here are two of Che's SIgnature Dishes. Everything available at CUCINA | Renaissance City Center Doha Hotel

Thank you, Chef Daniele! And thank you to the rest of Cucina Team + the Renaissance/Marriot/West End Hotel staff esp to Maam Miet & Maam Tania. Watch out for Chef Daniele's Cook Book coming soon.

Being in the Middle East for eight years now, I am  dragged into a lot of multi-cultural festivals and Islam being a major religion across GCC; Big eid is always celebrated on a grand scale. Long holiday. And often times I travel overseas. But this year is different...

Eid-ul-Adha aka “Festival of Sacrifice”. I've learned that muslims believe that on this day, Prophet was ready to sacrifice his son in order to prove his faith in Islam to Allah but just as he was about to strike the knife, Allah replaced his son with a sheep to sacrifice instead.

Thereafter, the muslims sacrifice cows, sheep, and goats on this day to keep up the tradition and in memory of Prophet Ibrahim and his faith. The day of Eid is deduced by the Islamic Lunar Calendar. I am not a Muslim but I have high respect with their tradition and belief. And it's always been rewarding to learn & grow from multi-cultural places.

To all my Muslim friends, colleagues, boss, clients & practitioners -- WISHING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY A DELIGHTFUL EID AL ADHA!

This image was taken on 11th July 2008 at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

For eight years now in the Middle East, spending my Ramadan 2012 in Qatar has been a lot of work & a lot of fun.

I'd like to thank W Hotel, InterContinental Hotel, The Village, Renaissance Doha City Center Hotel, Governor West Bay Suite & Residence, Grand Heritage Doha Hotel & Spa for these commissioned works to cover their Ramadan promotions -- to shoot across a variety of styles from Food & Beverage, Interior, Exterior, Restaurant, Guest Rooms, Lounge, Portraiture to Events Photography.

Thank you to all my friends for holding my lights. To all the PR, Chefs, Restaurant Managers & staff for putting extra effort to arrange the photoshoot and to all the people who always inspire me of putting their sweet comments in my Facebook & Twitter, THANK YOU!

I never thought photographing 5 Star Hotels will be a dream come true. It's a wonderful experience: that my versatility in photography can be achieved from sweat & blood, from Iftar to Sohour, from dusk till dawn.

May this season & forthcoming days be filled with joy & love... EID MUBARAK!

Needless to say, I am commissioned to shoot the group portraits of Cucina; People, Architecture and Food shots of Ramadan Tent... In deed, I had so much people to thank for -- To Raquel Gonzales who never fail of believing in me. To Miet, Tania, Chef Daniele and the rest of Renaissance Team for their professionalism and hospitality; and to Karl for assisting me. This truly an amazing milestone in my "photography career" that I can personally tell. And I appreciate all the goodness God has been showering & people who put their trust in me to deliver.

And did I mention we had SOO MUCH FUN in the set? :D

3rd August. Hey gang! Thanks to Nikon Rebel Shooters (NRS) Group 2 and the whole gang who tuned into the Lighting Session today. It was fun! And here are some of another works for Alma Dee (Hair & Make Up Artist) whose potential is tremendously progressive despite her young age. Isn't it nice to work with someone whose willing to learn, collaborates with your ideas and share the same passion?

Last Thursday, I had a quick talk of what concept I wanna do. From the explosive hair to hard make up. I want dark lips with a bit of 2 tone. And I'm pretty sure Alma can definitely make em happen for me. Thanks Gerlyn and Maila for being our models. You girls are stunning! And of course, the rest of the NRS for arranging the session. To Roy & Doc Gio for helping me sort out the props and Doyee, Sir Niel, Daddy Olie for painting our backdrop.

Prior covering the Cirque Du Soleil event for SPG, I was commissioned to take a few shots of VINTAGE's interior. The moment I entered the bar, I was stunned with its design, interior and top of the line ambiance. And so I promised myself that one of these days, I'm hopeful to visit the bar for a drink or two. You know, after a day full of work.. it's nice to pamper yourself for personal motivation of some sort. harhar.

7th July. Spent a day with Nikon Rebel Shooters (NRS) sharing some of my light techniques. In which, was glad for the 2nd & 3rd time, have gorgeous models Jaya San Jose & Maila Torres to joined us. Plus, had a chance to work with AL Dee (Hair & Make Up Artist).

This is a confession to make: Took me 3 years to get the feel of learning flash photography. My early years in photography were more on the field. Getting snaps of Exterior and Architecture of Dubai. Not until I took a quick class of Joe McNally from Gulf Photo Plus. From then, I was hooked learning, exploring & experimenting lights. And 2 years from now, I still realise that there's soo much more to learn. To explore. But you know what? I may not have the best picture perfect of all time. But I am happy to see enthusiasts and passionate photographers dwell on the same stage. Photography isn't all about taking photos. It is becoming my Life now. And I know God gave me this to share... and to SURVIVE.

Thanks to Jerilee Antic-Java for being my English critic. Thanks for the beautiful write-up, Maam Ailyn Agonia. I reckon it was overrated on my side haha. But seriously, thanks for the mention, Qatar Tribune! #ProudFilipino #PassionatePhotographer #ThisIsForYouNay!

11th June. The day I met Maila few weeks back, I knew she possesses certain charisma either in modeling or in person -- The looks! skinny, tall, the shapes -- Name it, she got it! And mostly, the "sexiness" in the camera. I told myself that it'll be a privilege if I can work with her even for a funshoot at least. Gladly, through Zachie and Roy, shoot went through along with Parc Chelphibz Cruz who did an awesome work for Maila's hair and make up. Thank you, guys! I appreciated the effort and time (Imagine we finished half past four friday morning. Pretty sick eh?!)

Needless to mention, I'm thrilled to see Maila tomorrow on her very first collaboration with W Doha Hotel. She'll gonna be one of the models for Mona Al Ansari -- Winner of W Doha VCU Award 2012, showcasing the Winning Collection "EDIFICE" (By Invitation Only). Finger-getting-itchy again for the shoot tomorrow as I'll be covering the event for W Doha Hotel. #GreatStuffComing! View Arriane's full set after the jump.

I've been seeing Jaya in FB. Didn't realise that finally, I was able to meet her in person last Friday. She doesn't know me but that doesn't matter.. What I can tell -- She's young, enthusiastic in modelling and yes, naturally BEAUTIFUL. Needless to say, she possesses huge potential to become a big star. In deed, she is...  Had a few shots of her.. View the set after the jump.

Shooting Portrait is like shooting a Landscape... You have the terrain, the curves, the colours and the shapes.

And perhaps MAILA brought justice to what it defines. The emotions, lips, the willingness, her eyes and hair that dances with the wind... Stunning. Hot as a fire!! Definitely you're over the top, girl!

25 May. Glad to become part of A SHOT OF HOPE, a fund raising campaign organized by WARP and NRS for the benefit of Baby LJ. It's amazing how different organizations, hobbyist and passionate photographers get together for this event. Congratulations to all the organizers for the successful initiative.

Will soon upload the Behind-The-Scenes I took. But today, was just surprised to find myself working with Portraits. I mean, it's quite been a long time since I did a photoshoot for a she. Click the link below to see the set I did for model Anne.

Natural light. Candid and poses are from the talented Anne herself. Sucha gorgeous kid. Thanks again for doing a great job despite the heat and harwork for standing on high heels. You look stunning, Anne.

22nd May. Overwhelmed that I had the privilege to shoot the THE BELGIAN CAFE DOHA's recent addition to their menu... Well, if you personally know me, you can tell how much I love Belgian Cafe. I remember the early days when I just moved here in Doha. The resto was our favourite hang out destination.. After a full week of work, won't skip Thursday without visiting Belgian.

Inspired by its mood, I kinda positioned the food concept into something classic.. Retro. Cozy. Concentrated with earth colors... warm, elegant and done on a low key approach. Something that could differentiate from my shoots with the rest of the hotel's outlets. Nevertheless, had so soo much fun doing this. Thanks Chef Galal for the sumptuous dishes & considering my food styling. Thanks Intercon & Maam Rax for the lovely dinner at The Cafe... Can't hardly wait for the opening of Opera... And oh, will be back to Belgian Cafe this Thursday to post-celebrate the birthday of a good friend of mine -- Mark. Yeeeba!

19th May. For almost two months running up and down Dubai & Abu Dhabi, I am glad to be back in Qatar. And last Thursday nite, was able to do another collab for InterContinental Hotel re INNA's Live in Doha Beach Concert. Alongside is anew apprentice of mine, an active member of NIKON REBELS SHOOTERS (got lotsa things on NRS' plate... watch this space). As two of my friends were unable to make it last Thursday, I asked a huge favor to Zach if he can assist me shooting the event. Glad he didn't hesitate though. Inna's pretty! Petite but sucha star. Despite the HOT weather around, the concert was -- jampacked! we all went party sweatin & dancing. Clean fun times!

"It doesn't require difficulties teaching somebody who naturally got talent, thirst for knowledge & dedication to passion." I reckon I just discovered another "Eye of Photography." Well done, Zachie!

To view the complete set of the concert's photos, check out the fan page of InterCon Hotel in Facebook. P.S. Inna's Portrait was shot by yours truly. The massive-party-freak-crowd photo was shot by Zachie. The rest are from my iPhone4s +
Instagram (Follow me @joeagdeppa). Will soon write a quick blog on my recent addiction to IG. #Winks

No matter how bad and good your photographs are, at the end of the day, THEY ARE ALL WORTH SAVING.

In this modern time, you can't just simply trust technology. One day, you can freely browse your digital files, then gone the next. And today, whilst I was doing my ARCHIVE-ing, copying files from my lappy to my external drive [which I do quarterly, btw], I bumped in old photographs taken during my business trips in South Africa from 2005 - 2007. Times that I just started learning photography (Note: I don't have dSLR that time yet). Needless to say, your photographs simply entail stories where had you been... and what you've been up to. It's some sort of visual diary.

Keep shooting
! Remember that being a Photographer isn't just about winning competitions, taking beautiful sunsets and glamorous models BUT photo-documenting YOUR memories. YOUR life. YOUR soul. YOURself.

Ohh, South Africa -- memories that are both bitter & sweet. I wish to come back soon; with lagger on my left, biltong on my right.. and yes, do another wild safari.

5th May. Few months back, I was invited to join a competition about REFLECTION. Until I learned I am not entitled because of residency. Today, I am exposing my entry with its theme REFLECTION. For the record, this image NEVER go through any post processing. Although, Photoshop is used to resize & place my watermark. Full stop.

BHS: I shoot RAW. That's the best way to keep the QUALITY. A personal experiment of some sort. The green backdrop was actually from my Mom's Bedroom wall (painted in Green), placed the flower on top of my iPad (which the screen protector creates another reflections). The partial black portion of the background came from a black T-Shirt pasted on the wall. Twisted to make a dynamic composition. Using Window light (creates a natural lighting). White Balance Cloudy, Spot Metering, Manual Mode, On Tripod, ISO 400, f8, 0.6sec. And oh, what a great advantage to do tethered shooting through iPad? I can exactly see my exposure right then and then.

Using NIKON D700 + NIKKOR 105mm f2.8 Macro lens, I did calibrated my white balance in the camera to compliment the grayish atmosphere. Used f8 to get its texture, ISO 400 helps blur the background more. Camera locked on tripod for stability especially I am using a very slow shutter speed. Combining altogether, the contrast, depth, sharpness and colours output are always beyond my expectation. Loving FREEDAH much much!

"YOU will always be a beautiful
REFLECTION of my darkness..."

Forget about consciousness. Forget about judgement. For once, lemme challenged myself to bring out the best of my model outa his own perspective, style and belief. Needless to say, his charm in the camera works pretty well. Need I say more? Give way to the recent addition of my Portraiture collection feat Hamada Nabulsi. 1st May. This morning, got newsletter from Google Analytics re Product Update: Social Measurement, Content Tracking, Attribution & New Sharing Tools. It's been a while since the last time I checked my website tracking facility aparat from ClusterMaps (which doesn't give real time update). And today, was surprised that for the past month, got 849 UNIQUE visitors and generated 4,451 page views. Really, are these figures real?  Whoever and wherever you are, thank you for visiting my website. I do appreciate your time.

Lately, been spending some thoughts how to simplify my website and make it more dynamic. I might let go of Flora & Fauna and open anew link for Food & Beverage. Concentrate more of Portraiture, Travel and Architecture. Plus, Events might appear too.

Hopefully, I can create a section for blog (but wait, I'm not a writer) to showcase some techniques & lighting I applied; A box perhaps for suggestion/comments where readers can put their words in... and some live tweets.

Yeah, sounds massive but when can I steal TIME?

27th April. After all these years working with IO, I guess the only thing constant is CHANGES. Moving up and down between Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi ain't easy. But I must say, I'm glad to be back in DUBAI!

On my first weekend -- an Exterior shoot capturing The World's Tallest Building -- Burj Khalifa on L'heure Bleue. Got lotsa things on my plate nowadays... Will sort out our new ADNOC project first and in God's abet, the "Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Light" goes on. Big things gonna happen. POSITIVITY!

23rd April. Delighted that after months of planning, we were able to hit interior photoshoot of InterContinental Doha Hotel. Thank you, InterCon. Thanks for the awesome gift -- "Weekend stay with Breakfast for two" you gave me. Appreciated much. Probably hafta wait for the right time to use it though... Summer maybe?!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
21st April. Being in Qatar will never be complete without visiting any of the InterCon Resto outlet or probably dippin in the pool or the beach resort.

SHORTLISTED for the upcoming Time Out Doha Restaurant Awards 2012 for Best Bar Food and South American categories, was able to do another collaboration to photoshoot their best seller Fajitas and Burritos; Needless to say, the Restaurant and Bar offers a perfect mix of good food, live music, live telecast of featured games.

This must be a quick confession: I honestly challenged myself how to distinguish the "Happy Food Concept" I did from MYKONOS to PALOMA. And I'm grateful Maam Rax & Chef Salvador kinda like the idea I recommended. It was spontaneous; I did the conceptualisation outa fresh vegetables I saw from the kitchen, cactus, figurine and using the table runner. A composition of Mexican look & feel. Afterwhich, was also able to do the Portraiture of Chef Salvador; my Lecturer during the Tex-Mex Cooking class I attended last year. Thank you for the sumptuous dinner, Chef! And Maam Rax for everything.

Thanks Karl & Ariel for assisting me that day & holding my lights. Needless to mention, I didn't realise my Nikkor 85mm f1.8 lens can be used for Food until I came up with these shots.

16th April. Not every Photographer is given a chance to photograph Royal family in the Middle East... And I am honoured and thrilled for the second time around, I got another commissioned work; and this time, to do the Portrait photoshoot of HH Sheikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Owner & Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Free Zone Trade.

So many things happened that day. From the car accident, rushing to find another lift and somebody who can assist me with. But nevertheless, it was worth the punch. And thank God we are all safe, reached RAK on time & was able to nail the photoshoot.

This project will never materialise if not because of Mr. Imad of RAK Chamber of Commerce and thru the RAK Freezone PR Manager Ms. Cleo and her assistant. Thank you for the trust and patronizing my professional photography. Thanks Rodel and Eugene, who assisted and held my lights during the photoshoot. Rock on!

7th April. Dubai. I remember the first time I saw her and now, looking at her photographs made me realise how amazing time flies... Yzzabelle, one of the kids close to my heart. Thanks Kuya Nap & Ate Che for giving me this precious moment to do the photoshoot with Yzzie. Thank you Sam and Kaye for allowing us do the photoshoot in your place. And of course, the seafood grilled dinner too. You guys are superb! :D

4th April. QATAR: Please don't forget to grab this month's SOCIETY Magazine published by GULF TIMES where my interior shot of ISLAMIC MUSEUM OF ART's Cafe is published.

"The magnificent use of the eight-point star as an Architectural water feature and Arabic art caught my attention when I visited the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha. The star serves as a comfortable ambiance yet unique setting of the Cafe. From the top view perspective, it dynamically showcases the richness of Arabic culture, tranquillity and the warmth of Qatar Hospitality."

ACKNOWLEDGMENT: Ms. Gwynne Gallardo for being my English critic; Mr. Allan Paredes for scanning & sending me the scanned image of the magazine; Mr. Arul Kumar for the recommendation and most especially Mr. Christopher Desouza, Gulf Time's Manager for Special Projects.

3rd April. If there's one wish I'd like to ask God today, definitely it's the wish to be with my love ones. But though distance is quite a challenge, I am humbled & blessed that being in the Middle East for years now had brought me and still bringing me reasons to embrace the goodness of LIFE (defined as Photography slash Landscaping), the trust of the people I met, the endless support of my friends & of course, the love of my family.

Last night, we were able to do Kids' studio photoshoot with Quin & MarQ. Two of the kids close to my heart. Thank you to Sir Charles for the warm hospitality & lending us his studio. To the parents Sam, Kaye, Adrian & Karen for entrusting me your kids. To Tita Jen, Ralph & Mai for being there for me. THANK YOU!

I must say -- despite ages, I would never grow old... and the "kid" inside of me resides forever.. so let this represents MOJOE & true blood jeJOEmon --

1st April. I must say -- apart from December, my top most favourite month of the year. And as I turn another chapter of my life, another month of the year, allow me to present the Engagement photoshoot we did for Sir Danny & Shiela.

It's been a while since the last time I shoot an Engagement. This time, I wanted to bring back my own 3 lights technique signature: with a composition of something classic, minimalist and naturalist... That every second of the photoshoot brought massive Hatta-Oman memories. I miss em, and still lovin...

Thank you Sir Danny & She! for all the patience and trust you had given me. After all these months of planning, we finally did it & we had a blast.

Thank You, Byze and May for always being there for me; of never getting tired to hold my lights. And Rodel, for being our ultimate carlift... as we hit the humps with such fun! LOL So blessed to have cool folks around.

GRATITUDE! This is the only word I can tell after all the massive support I received for PUCAW Qatar Edition -- A Photography Enlightenment Workshop with Actual Photoshoot & Post Processing.

Being in Qatar for a year now, life's never better; I didn't really think of holding my 4th Photography Workshop in Doha. Not even thought of my unexpected win from DohaTweetUp that brought my first Solo Photography Exhibit sponsored by W Doha Hotel last October. I must say, it is all because of Raquel Gonzales -- the one who triggered the fire & the plan materialised. From the night I was shooting the TRIBECCA's After-Party in InterContinental Hotel up to the last wee hour  where I almost gave up being restless sorting out this event.
To all my sponsors: To who I've been working for almost 8 years now -- Mr. Issam Owies, who provided visas for my H&MUA + Model. To Luna Salunga & Keeks Arandela (BOUNDLESS & KAMUTI) for sponsoring 3 Participants (3 Raffle Prizes worth 400QR each); Henz Hilos (EXPLORER PUBLISHING) for all the Photo Books & Calendars; IFS Family -- Sir Arul, Sir Abraham, Sir Charlie especially Sir William for giving away 2 Dinner Vouchers of THE VILLAGE Restaurant; Maam Rax Gonzales for sponsoring my PUCAW's Roll Up; Allan Paredes for the GMC & HUMMER Ballers; Sir Khalifa Haroon (I LOVE QATAR) and of course, INTERCONTINENTAL DOHA HOTEL for sponsoring my venue, the sumptuous lunch buffet & unlimited morning/afternoon coffee breaks. Thank you! I'm drunk with all your love.
Acknowledge to the Stylist CARLA MALLARI, Hair & Make-Up Artist PAULINE AGRABIO and to my ever-ready and stunning models FRANCINE DINGLASAN, DENY GALSIM, ANGEL MALLARI & RAMZY SARWAR. Well done, guys!
To Byze Vicente, for running errands from Dubai; To Ariel & Shelly -- for the welcome remarks & introduction (Friends ko talaga kayo!); To my superb crew: Rica, Marj, Milet, Shelly, Jerson, Jay  & of course, Karl  -- THANK YOU! The ones who became my ultimate support that day!
And to all the participants who came out for PUCAW, THANK YOU! It was wonderful to meet so many cool folks.

4th March 2012. Thank you, American Chamber of Commerce - Qatar, especially to Ms. Keri Stooksbury for giving me the opportunity to cover your Annual Golf Tournament 2012 in Doha Golf Club. This is actually my second time around to shoot Golf (1st time in Dubai during World Cup 2010). I must say that it's both challenging and fun. The weather today was freezing.. Learned a lot of must-bring in a cold freezing sunny day. But thank God, He heard my prayers of giving us one fine day. As you may be aware, Qatar encountered a lot of sandstorm for the past week.
I was aiming for a great shot where I can capture a complete Sports scene: Golfer with a blurred background, Wood and a flying Golf Ball. I guess I was lucky. If you look closer at the 3rd image, you will see what I mean! Must have been the shot of the day for me. :D

25th February. My featured article from QATAR TRIBUNE is finally out. The moment I received their invitation and questionnaire last month, it was something unexpected but totally appreciated. This is my 2nd time to be featured in a nation wide newspaper (1st was in ILLUSTRADO Magazine January 2011).

Thank you Rax Gonzales, who had opened such doors of opportunities here in Qatar. Despite how frustrated I get with my day job nowadays, God is giving me sweet reasons to embrace Qatar; to Ailyn  Agonia of Qatar Tribune, for such promising write up and for giving me the opportunity to be published. Thank you!

And yeah, looking forward for another big event of PUCAW. It just makes me sad that Henry Hilos & Joseph Tayco won't be able to make it this time. But as early as now, thank you to all the participants, models & crew who have committed their time for such event. We are fully booked now. You guys have no idea how much I appreciate this and rest assured that all of the proceeds will go to the deserving children of Palawan, Philippines. I cannot do this without your help.

Finally, my endless gratitude to my bestfriend Jerilee Java-Antic, for always been my critic especially when it comes to writing. Well, not here in my blog (I'm not good in English, btw) But everytime I need such professional and legal advise, editing of some sort, she always find time for me despite her hectic schedule as a career woman and a mother. I love you, SKM!

To my dear inspiration, who always gives me the courage to be strong despite being away from them -- my Nanay. This is for you! I love you and I know, you never check my website (haha she hates English) but always, I am wishing, that you can literally see both my personal & professional accomplishments.. that the least thing I can do is to either surprise you of getting home or maybe book your dream holiday -- Rome right?!  #WishfulThinkin

18th February. As an ex-deal offer during the Business Lunch Commercial Photoshoot with my models, we finally hit the Portfolio Photos of Ramzy Sarwar. He does ramp modelling, print and commercial ad.

I haven't shoot much of the portraits for the past year; but I trust this session leads to more of Portfolio shoots one way or another. And I'm hopeful next month, if ever my WS materialises, I can share my recent light techniques & discuss further some tips in other forms like Travel, Food and Architecture. In God's abet, this will be another fund raising for the benefit of Kids Charity in Palawan, Philippines.

Don't judge me; I just can't help myself but to feel OVERWHELMED that as early as February, I was able to photoshoot Three of the Best Fine Dining Restaurants of Qatar: THE VILLAGE, MYKONOS of Intercontinental Hotel and now, THE MARKET by JEAN-GEORGES of W Hotel.

Known to be TIMEOUTDOHA's 2011 Best Business Lunch & Best Contemporary European -- THE MARKET is one of my personal favourite restos in town. Well, if you follow me on Twitter, you'll find me in 1 of these 4 places harhar [including my crib].

Apart from the cozy ambiance, I always feel at home with their top service, friendly staff and sumptous meal. Mr. Nassim (Manager of The Market) who always pampered me; And when it comes to food, my top fave: Lamb Chops, Salmon, Cheese Burger, Calamari and California Maki.

To the management of The Village, Intercon Hotel and W Hotel, THANK YOU for giving me this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Three of a kind; No room for competition but pure professionalism. And I will always be grateful for the trust you had given!

GOOD FOOD. GOOD LIFE. GRATITUDE!

February ain't just a love month. It's a festive season for good food, thanks giving and healthy living.

And I am delighted to photograph again the latest interior of the 5 star restaurant in Qatar -- THE VILLAGE.

This is something truly I'm proud of. Not because doing the photoshoot from twelve midnite till dawn; but I honestly can't get enough of its architectural beauty, sumptuous food (which I reckon always been one of my favourite hang-out places in town) plus GREAT SERVICE!

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE!  Good times, folks! See you at The Village!

26th January. Have you been to Katara?! or should I say -- Have you revisited Katara?!

Among all the lovely places here in Qatar, Katara will always be 1 of my personal favourite spots to visit. Its Architecture, Concept and being the Art center itself made me always dream that one day, I wish I could hold my Photography Exhibit here (Daydreaming). Also, was pretty amazed with their setup of the ARABIAN NIGHT during 20th WORLD PETROLEUM CONGRESS last December.

Needless to say, I am honoured to received as the Winner during the Katara's Eid 2011 Photography Competition. Finally met & BIG thanks to Sir Abdul Rahman Saleh Al-Khulaifi (President of Katara), Marina and the rest of Katara team.

On its 2nd year -- Qatar Motorshow 2012 is another BIG international event you cannot miss.

Honestly, I am not a fan of cars. [Simply coz I cannot afford it] Plus, I don't drive for some reasons; But being surrounded with TOP OF THE LINE automobiles is definitely exciting! [and pressured at the same.... If you know what I mean]

Thank you BUGATTI, LAMBORGHINI and BENTLEY for having me part of this show. It is in deed a great honour to photograph not only your luxurious cars but specially the Sheiks, VIPs and Directors behind this HUGE success. And of course: Gratitude Rax Gonzales, Sheila Dalumpines and Roger Emperio... Can't do this without you all. Great times!

QATAR MOTOR SHOW 2012 opens to public from 4PM-10PM. 25th - 28th January. Feel free to come say Hi! if you visit the show. I'll be there evening time only as I am committed w/ my day job. #IncreaseWorldPeace

KUNG HEI FAT CHOI!

Happy Chinese New Year to my family & the rest of practitioners!

This year, the Chinese year 4710 begins on January 23, 2012. The Chinese all over the world are celebrating the New Year with a new sign, the DRAGON -- the luckiest and most auspicious of all the animal signs. Actually, Chinese couples rush to make "dragon babies" because they're supposed to be lucky. You can just imagine the number of Chinese babies that will be born this year. :D

And in lieu with the celebration, finally sharing some of my personal travel photos during my 2nd visit to Hong Kong -- as part of my 7 Countries Escapade in 24 Days.

Got lotsa things needed to sort out lately! Been outdoor most of the time and back to the site office in New Doha International Airport. Once I find time again, will soon upload the photographs I took in MACAU.

To those who are planning to have a quick visit in Hong Kong or Macau, I have jotted down the contact info of my poster friends. They can tour you around the city in a minimal fee.

18th January. There's so much things on my plate this year. And I am honestly both thrilled and pressured. Time management is always been an issue; But I'm just thankful that despite my unavailability during weekdays, I am still able to shoot in the evenings. Thank you, Lord for the energy.

Food and Products shoots are definitely addicting nowadays. It's something I wanna expand apart from commercial & architecture photography. And it's rewarding I was able to do another collaboration with Intercontinental Hotel Doha. Of course, I owe this to Maam Raquel Gonzales for the trust.

In addition, I finally met anew Hair & Make Up Artist Cherden Denis. This is our very first collaboration as well. Looking forward to do more works in the future out of our passion, love of art & thirst for knowledge.

Big thanks to Chris Dayao for holding my lights.

Here are some of the Food shots & Chef Constantinos' Portraiture of MYKONOS Restaurant. The rest of the images will soon be published in leading magazines, web appearances and prints across Qatar.

10th January. Uploading my happiest holiday ever... my very first trip in Cebu and my very first holiday w/ my mother.

If there's one trait I didn't inherit from my mom -- is the habit of travelling. Well, I personally did not take much photos of Cebu as I was looking after my nieces and mom. Staying all day long in Movenpick Resort beach was a blast! But somehow, was able to photo-document some important spots of the city. Most of them are more of a personal photos so I thought I would rather keep them discreet.

The next time I revisit Cebu. 2 things I have to consider:
1. It should be during SUMMER time.
2. It could be during SINULOG festival.

9th January 2012. Uploading my very first local travel in the Philippines for this year -- BOHOL Province. Ever since I can remember,  Bohol is always been a dream destination. Things like Chocolate Hills, Tarsiers, Beaches, etc.  From those history textbooks I'm learning until those days that I've started working in Manila.

Gladly, was given a chance this time prior flying back to Dubai. Although it's unfortunate that the storm came in whilst I was in the Chocolate Hills. In fact, I was supposed to visit Tagbilaran on 6th January but for no luck, I was not able to get a ferry ticket. So I moved my Bohol Day Tour the day before.

Travelling is definitely an adventure. We take risk for whatever circumstances you may encounter. But I am more than happy & thankful that God gave me such a wonderful safe journey-- to experience asuch beauty of nature and to cross out a destination in my wanna-visit-list. Life's never better!

Watch out for more photos on my recent travels to HONG KONG, MACAU and CEBU.

MABUHAY 2012!

Life has to move on. An Aeta who migrated to Tagbilaran...

Visiting Bohol's been in my list even before I started working overseas. I may not be able to capture the beauty of Chocolate hills, but I promised myself that in time, I will be back. As I officially embrace 2012, here comes my very 1st post -- a candid photograph of an Aeta girl. You can see their tribe when you take the floating restaurant in Loboc.

The Aeta (pronounced as eye-ta,), Agta or Ayta are an indigenous people who live in scattered, isolated mountainous parts of Luzon, Philippines. They are considered to be Negritos, who are dark to very dark brown-skinned and tend to have features such as a small stature, small frame, curly to kinky afro-like textured hair with a higher frequency of naturally lighter hair color (blondism) relative to the general population, small nose, and dark brown eyes. They are thought to be among the earliest inhabitants of the Philippines, preceding the Austronesian migrations. *Wikipedia
